About EuroTaxCalc — European Tax Calculators

About EuroTaxCalc

We believe every worker, freelancer, and business owner in Europe deserves free, accurate, and easy-to-understand tax information — in their own language.

What Is EuroTaxCalc?

EuroTaxCalc is a free online tax calculator platform covering major European countries. We build accurate, easy-to-use calculators for salary, self-employment, VAT, and more — each one built specifically for that country's tax system, written in the country's native language, and verified against official government data.

Unlike generic calculators that apply one-size-fits-all formulas, every EuroTaxCalc tool reflects the exact rules of that country: the correct income tax bands, the right social security rates, the actual thresholds and exemptions that apply to real people in that country in 2026. We cover Belgium, Czechia, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

EuroTaxCalc is completely free to use. There is no signup, no account, no paywall, and no premium tier. Every calculator is available to everyone, instantly.

Our Mission

🎯

"To make European tax information free, accurate, and accessible to every person — regardless of their country, language, or financial background."

— EuroTaxCalc Mission Statement

Tax information in Europe is fragmented. Every country has its own rules, its own terminology, and its own official sources — often only available in the local language. Most free tools that do exist are outdated, overly simplified, or only cover one country. Workers moving across borders, international freelancers, and everyday employees trying to understand their payslip are left without reliable, free information.

EuroTaxCalc was built to close that gap. We combine the depth and accuracy of a professional tax tool with the accessibility of a free, no-signup online calculator — and we do it across major European countries simultaneously. Our goal is simple: anyone in Europe should be able to find out exactly how their taxes work, in under 30 seconds, for free.

Meet the Founder

AS

Ammar Sarwar

Founder, EuroTaxCalc

EuroTaxCalc was founded by Ammar Sarwar with a straightforward goal: build the tax calculator platform that he wished existed when trying to understand how taxes work across different European countries. What started as a personal frustration turned into a fully-featured multi-country platform serving workers and freelancers across Europe.

Ammar leads the research, verification, and development of every calculator on the platform. Each country page is personally reviewed to ensure the tax logic, rates, and thresholds match the official government publications for that tax year. Nothing goes live until it has been verified against primary sources.

The platform is built on a simple principle: if you're going to publish tax information that people rely on for real financial decisions, it has to be right. That means going back to the original source every time — not copying from other calculators, not approximating, and not leaving outdated rates live when laws change.

"I built EuroTaxCalc because I couldn't find a single platform that gave accurate, free tax information across multiple European countries in one place. That gap shouldn't exist — and now it doesn't."

— Ammar Sarwar, Founder

Our Team & Approach

EuroTaxCalc is built and maintained by a dedicated team of developers, researchers, and tax data specialists. Our team combines technical expertise in web development with deep knowledge of European tax systems — allowing us to build calculators that are both technically precise and genuinely easy to use.

For each country we cover, our process is the same: we start from the official government source, verify every rate and threshold, build the calculation logic from scratch, test against known examples, and only then publish the calculator. Every year, when tax rates change, we go back through the same process to ensure the data stays accurate.

🔍

Primary Source Research

We go directly to official government tax authorities, not secondary sources. Every rate is traced back to an official publication or law.

Independent Verification

Every calculation is tested against multiple real-world examples before publishing. We check our results against official government calculators where available.

🔄

Annual Updates

Tax rates change every year. We review and update every calculator at the start of each tax year to ensure accuracy. The last update date is shown on each page.

Our Data Sources

EuroTaxCalc calculators are built exclusively on data from official government tax authorities. We do not copy rates from other calculator websites, news articles, or unofficial sources. Every figure you see on EuroTaxCalc traces back to one of the following official sources:
