1. Who We Are
EuroTaxCalc (accessible at https://eurotaxcalc.com) is a free online tax calculator platform. EuroTaxCalc is operated by Ammar Sarwar ("we", "us", or "our"). We provide free tax calculators for European countries to help workers, freelancers, and business owners estimate their tax obligations.
For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws, EuroTaxCalc is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, you can contact us at: hello@eurotaxcalc.com
2. What Data We Collect
EuroTaxCalc collects a very limited amount of data. We only collect data through the third-party services listed below — we do not have our own database of user information.
| Data Type | Source | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Pages visited, session duration, country of origin, device type, browser type | Google Analytics 4 (GA4) | Understanding how visitors use the site so we can improve it |
| Anonymised IP address | Google Analytics 4 (GA4) | Geographic analytics — city/country level only |
| Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks) | Google AdSense | Displaying relevant ads and measuring ad performance |
| Advertising cookies and identifiers | Google AdSense / DoubleClick | Serving personalised ads based on browsing history |
| Cookie consent choice | EuroTaxCalc (localStorage) | Remembering your cookie preference so we don't ask again |
3. What We Do NOT Collect
This section is important. EuroTaxCalc is a tax calculator tool. You enter sensitive financial figures into our calculators — your salary, income, profit, and other financial data. We want to be completely transparent:
✅ We never collect any of the following:
- ✓Any numbers, figures, or values you enter into any calculator on this site
- ✓Your salary, income, profit, tax, or any other financial data you input
- ✓Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers (we have no sign-up or account system)
- ✓Your location beyond approximate country/city level (via anonymised GA4 data)
- ✓Any form submissions — we have no forms that collect personal data
- ✓Payment information of any kind — EuroTaxCalc is entirely free and has no payment system
- ✓Any data from children under 16 years of age
All calculations performed by EuroTaxCalc happen entirely within your browser (client-side JavaScript). No calculator input is ever sent to our servers, stored in a database, or transmitted to any third party. When you close the calculator tab, the data is gone.
4. Google Analytics (GA4)
EuroTaxCalc uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC ("Google"). GA4 helps us understand how visitors use our website — which pages are most visited, how long people stay, which countries visitors come from, and which devices they use.
Google Analytics sets cookies on your browser to collect this information. The data collected is transmitted to and stored on Google's servers, which may be located in the United States or other countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
What GA4 collects on our behalf:
- Pages you visit on EuroTaxCalc and how long you spend on them
- The country and approximate city you are visiting from (IP address is anonymised — we cannot identify you individually)
- Your device type, operating system, and browser
- How you arrived at EuroTaxCalc (e.g. from a search engine, direct link, or social media)
- Events such as button clicks (anonymised and aggregated)
What GA4 does NOT collect on our behalf:
- We have not enabled any Google Analytics Advertising Features
- We do not use GA4 for remarketing, demographic reporting, or interest category reporting
- We do not collect or pass any calculator inputs to GA4
We have configured GA4 with IP anonymisation enabled. Google Analytics anonymises the last part of your IP address before storage, meaning we cannot identify your precise location or individual identity from analytics data.
Legal basis (GDPR): We rely on your consent as the legal basis for processing analytics data via GA4. You can withdraw consent at any time by adjusting your cookie preferences using the cookie consent banner on this site.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also manage your preferences via Google's Privacy Controls.
For more information about how Google uses data from analytics, see: How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps.
5. Google AdSense & Advertising Cookies
EuroTaxCalc uses Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google LLC. Google AdSense allows us to display advertisements on our website. These ads help us cover the costs of running and maintaining EuroTaxCalc as a free service.
Required AdSense Disclosure: Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to EuroTaxCalc or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users of EuroTaxCalc based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings. Alternatively, users can opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for interest-based advertising by visiting aboutads.info.
How AdSense works on EuroTaxCalc:
- When you visit EuroTaxCalc, Google AdSense may set cookies on your browser to serve relevant advertisements
- These cookies may be associated with the domains doubleclick.net or google.com
- Google may use information about your visits to this and other websites to show you relevant ads
- We do not have access to or control over the cookies set by Google AdSense
- We do not pass any calculator inputs or financial data to Google AdSense
Opting out of personalised ads:
You have several options to opt out of personalised advertising:
- Visit Google Ad Settings to manage your Google ad personalisation preferences
- Visit aboutads.info to opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies
- Visit networkadvertising.org to use the NAI opt-out tool
- Adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies (see the Cookies section below)
- Use our cookie consent banner to withdraw consent for advertising cookies
Please note that opting out of personalised ads does not mean you will stop seeing ads on EuroTaxCalc — it means the ads you see will not be based on your browsing history. You may still see generic ads.
For more information about Google AdSense and privacy, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Legal basis (GDPR): We rely on your consent as the legal basis for advertising cookies set by Google AdSense. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we will request your consent before serving personalised ads.
